Mountain views, lake excursions, and ideal weather set the stage for AEGEE-Brescia’s latest Summer University “Brixtreme: Born to be Wild” from 23 July to 2 August 2026. 19 participants experienced an action-packed 11 days in northern Italy.

GT: What was your Summer University about?
AEGEE-Brescia: Our SU was about outdoor adventures exploring Brescia and its surrounding territory, from the lakes straight to the top of the mountains.

Please name a few progamme highlights.
The main programme highlight can be summarized with one word: hike! We had different hikes both in Monte Isola, which is the biggest lake island in Italy and two other beautiful hikes in the Pre-Alps, that brought us directly to the top of the mountains surrounded by breath-taking views!

How many participants and organisers were at the SU?
We had 19 participants and 10 organisers.

What were the funniest or most exciting moments?
This year we added a completely new activity to the programme, which consisted of a two-hours walk in the undergrounds of our city. We had to wear helmets and very long boots to walk in the rivers that flow under the streets. It was such a great adventure, and everyone really enjoyed it! Another very touching moment was during the goodbye ceremony we held on the last day, it was such a precious moment!

How important was the gossip box?
The gossip box always becomes one of the main highlights of our SU and it’s always really funny to read it. Regarding the stories – it’s  better that what happens in AEGEE stays in AEGEE…

How was your group of participants?
The group was amazing; they went along with each other pretty fast and with us organizers too. We’re still in touch and whenever we have a chance to send a picture of small reunions in the group chat we take it!

How would you evaluate the SU on a scale from 0 (very bad) to 10 (excellent)?
It was a 10! Perfect weather, amazing people, so much happiness, we couldn’t have wished for anything better!

Which impact did the event have on your antenna?
The SU is the main international event we organize – and we’ve been doing it almost every year since 1999. It’s also the one that can help us find new members.

Will you organise an SU next year again?
Of course there’s going to be another Brixtreme next year! We always try to improve the SU according to the participant’s feedback, which is really important for us!

Anything else you’d like to share about your SU?
If you want to know more about our SU we strongly recommend to embark with us in our next Brixtreme journey in 2027!
