One of the new AEGEE Contacts founded in 2025 was the Contact in Sarajevo. The GT asked its President Adela Mujezinović how it was founded and how it is doing.

Contact Sarajevo is waiting for you!
Contact Sarajevo is waiting for you!

GT: This was a great year for you! How excited are you to be part of AEGEE?
Adela: Thank you! We are super excited! Excited to meet new people, excited to travel and excited to do great and meaningful things!

GT: When did you officially become an AEGEE Contact?
Adela: Around 11 February 2025.

GT: When did you hear about AEGEE for the first time?
Adela: I heard about it late in 2024 through some mutual friends of people who were in AEGEE. I thought it was a very interesting organization and I loved that it was from young people for young people! Eventually there was a push to create a Contact in Sarajevo and I somehow ended up being part of the initial group of founders. Before founding it, none of us had been part of AEGEE.

GT: How many members do you have now?
Adela: Currently we have 16 members including myself.

GT: Can you present your board to us?
Adela: Next to me there is our HR Coordinator Ella Alihodžić and our PR Coordinator Tesnim Mašić. For other positions, we did not have a need yet, but we are working on getting coordinators for events and activities and also for fundraising!

In December, the Contact organised a successful game night.

GT: What was the first event you attended?
Adela: It was the Spring Agora in Bilbao!

GT: What are you doing to find new members?
Adela: We usually try to attend events where we can do promotional work for our organization, because Sarajevo is very saturated with student or youth organizations. It seems to be going well. We also use our social media channels at our current or former universities.

The members of the Contact use many opportunities to present themselves.

GT: Does your university or other institutions support the idea of AEGEE?
Adela: Yes! We have a lot of moral institutional support. We are now working on turning that into sponsorships or fundraising.

GT: You even had an international activity, right?
Adela: Yes, in May we hosted the “Mini European School on How to Run a Youth NGO”! And we recently applied for Europe on Track!

GT: What other activities are you planning or have you already organised?
Adela: We held some volunteering activities but now we really want to somehow establish an exchange with colleagues from Izmir! Locally, we also had a successful games night in December!

GT: Why should AEGEE members visit you and Sarajevo?
Adela: Sarajevo is filled with history and cultural monuments! If you are a fan of history or nature, Sarajevo is the place to visit. People are super friendly and nice, we have good bars and even better food. And on top of that – we were named National Geographic’s Readers’ Choice top travel destination for 2025! Come visit! You won’t regret it!

GT: When do you want to sign the Convention d’Adhesion?
Adela: Hopefully at the Spring Agora 2026 in Izmir!

GT: Anything you would like to add?
Adela: We are super excited to be a part of such a large movement and organization – we won’t disappoint you!
