Golden Oldie: When and where were you born?

Floreyne Hesper: I was born in Rotterdam on the 21st of April 1979.

Golden Oldie: Where and what did you study?

Floreyne Hesper: I studied Children Psychology in Nijmegen.

Golden Oldie: When did you join AEGEE and how?

Floreyne Hesper: I joined AEGEE in Nijmegen, just by looking in the student organisations I liked.

Golden Oldie: Are you still member? If yes, of which antenna?

Floreyne Hesper: I’m not a member anymore, but an alumni of AEGEE Nijmegen.

Golden Oldie: How did you become board member of AEGEE-Nijmegen?

Floreyne Hesper: I was asked to be a board member.

Golden Oldie: What where the biggest challenges and rewards of this task?

Floreyne Hesper: The biggest challenge was starting in a board with people I did not really now, but we had a great time and almost doubled the number of members of AEGEE Nijmegen in our board year.

Golden Oldie: Did people appreciate the work?

Floreyne Hesper: That’s not a question I should answer.

Golden Oldie: Tell us a funny story of your AEGEE time.

Floreyne Hesper: Being at the regional meeting in Munster and finally getting our president drunk and hung over.

Golden Oldie: What was your favourite AEGEE event?

Floreyne Hesper: The TSU Thessaloniki in 2003.

Golden Oldie: What were your best and worst moments in AEGEE?

Floreyne Hesper: The worst moments were the cold and hunger at the Agora in Zaragoza.

Golden Oldie: Which AEGEE member impressed you a lot?

Floreyne Hesper: Luca Falcone, in body and mind. He is really sweet and has a great house in Napoli.

Golden Oldie: Any things you regret that you haven’t done them in AEGEE?

Floreyne Hesper: Being active on European level.

Golden Oldie: What are you doing now as main occupation?

Floreyne Hesper: Working as a project manager for the local Health Department in Nijmegen, dealing with Children at Risk.

Golden Oldie: Did AEGEE influence your career decision?

Floreyne Hesper: AEGEE and my work at the student counsel really affected my career. I work in policymaking now, which is not usual for a Children’s Psychologist.

Golden Oldie: How would your life be if you hadn’t known AEGEE?

Floreyne Hesper: A lot less travelling, partying and meeting great people.

Golden Oldie: Are you single/married/married with 5 children?

Floreyne Hesper: Single

Golden Oldie: Which languages do you speak?

Floreyne Hesper: Dutch of course, English, Spanish and a bit of Italian, German and French.

Golden Oldie: What do you like about Nijmegen?

Floreyne Hesper: I live in the city centre with a nice ambience and close to nature.

Golden Oldie: What are your best and least liked cities?

Floreyne Hesper: Best liked Madrid definitely, I used to live there.

Golden Oldie: What is the furthest place you ever went to?

Floreyne Hesper: The United States.

Golden Oldie: Which country would you like to visit in the near future?

Floreyne Hesper: Any South American country, I still have an invitation to celebrate carnival in Brazil.

Golden Oldie: What’s never missing in your fridge?

Floreyne Hesper: Milk to make cappuccino.

Golden Oldie: How would you describe yourself in five keywords?

Floreyne Hesper: Responsible, vivid, enjoying life, an optimist.
