SU Brescia 2025 Review: “Every day adventures and breathtaking scenery”

AEGEE-Brescia’s Summer University “Brixtreme: Spirit of Adventure” couldn’t have had a more fitting name. The event took place from 24 July to 3 August 2025 in and around Brescia, Italy, bringing together 20 participants and a team of 10 organisers and helpers. Over ten days, the Summer University focused on outdoor adventure, leading participants from Lake Garda and its surroundings to the nearby mountains.

GT: What was your Summer University about?
AEGEE-Brescia: Our Summer University “Brixtreme: Spirit of Adventure” was a ten-day immersion into our culture and territory. From day one, we switched to adventure mode and began exploring the beauties of Brescia and its surroundings: hiking to the top of the largest lake island in Europe, having fun in one of the most beautiful theme parks in Northern Italy, discovering ancient ruins around the biggest lake in Europe, and then moving to the mountains for five amazing days surrounded by nature, blue skies, and green landscapes.

How many participants and organisers were at the SU?
We had 20 participants and a team of 10 organisers and helpers.

Which workshops and other activities best represented the spirit of your SU?
The spirit was best represented by the many hikes we did. Every day brought a new adventure and breathtaking scenery.

What was a funny or emotional moment that defined the event for you?
One of the funniest days was definitely the one spent at the theme park. It was rainy, but we still had a great time together, laughing all day long on the different rides! The most emotional moment, though, happened in the mountains: at night we lit a bonfire and gazed at the stars. It was magical to be there all together in the cool mountain air, singing songs around the fire.

Any stories from the gossip box you can share?
There was plenty of interesting gossip throughout the event—especially during our days in the mountains. That is when the magic happens!

What made your group of participants special this year?
We always have special participants at our SUs, but this year people bonded even more. It was amazing to see everyone sitting at the same table, chatting, playing games, and dancing together at night.

How would you evaluate the SU overall — what worked well, what would you improve?
Overall, the SU went very well. We received lots of compliments and positive feedback from the participants. In the end, everyone was happy with the event, and that’s the most important thing for us.

What impact did the event have on your antenna?
The event had a very positive impact on our antenna. It helped strengthen the bonds within our team and motivated us to repeat the experience and organize the event again next year.
