Michel Peels belongs to the long line of AEGEE-Eindhoven presidents that are member of Les Anciens. He joined AEGEE in 1996, the year that his antenna organised the legendary Presidents Meeting – and five years later he was president of his beloved antenna. Even today he is true to his city. Michel works as media director of ABC Communications in the true heart of Brabant.

Golden Oldie: Michel, when and where were you born?

Michel: I was born on 17th of May 1972 in Geldrop, The Netherlands.

 

Golden Oldie: Where and what did you study?

Michel: I studied Marketing and Communications at Fontys Hogeschool Eindhoven.

 

Golden Oldie: When did you join AEGEE and how?

Michel: I joined AEGEE in 1996.

 

Golden Oldie: Are you still member? If yes, of which antenna?

Michel: Yes, I’m still member of AEGEE-Eindhoven.

 

Golden Oldie: What where the biggest challenges of being president of AEGEE-Eindhoven?

Michel: The biggest challenge was to gain more members by organising a lot of new and inspiring events.

 

Golden Oldie: How do you explain the famous AEGEE-Eindhoven spirit? What’s so special about it? 

Michel: To party and drinking beer a lot.

 

Golden Oldie: What was your favourite AEGEE event?

Michel: It was the Millennium Party 2000 in Lieshout, The Netherlands, together with more than 300 AEGEE members from all over Europe.

 

Golden Oldie: What were your best and worst moments in AEGEE?

Michel: My best moments were at Summer University in Sicily, I had great times! The worst moments were the boring meetings, the serious part of AEGEE I never liked.

 

Golden Oldie: Which AEGEE member impressed you a lot?

Michel: Michiel van Hees.

 

Golden Oldie: Any things you regret that you haven’t done them in AEGEE?

Michel: No regrets.

 

Golden Oldie: Did AEGEE influence your career decision?

Michel: No, I am working in media and advertising.

 

Golden Oldie: As a child, what did you dream to be your future job after growing up?

Michel: To become a Publisher.

 

Golden Oldie: What are you doing now as main occupation?

Michel: I am director of ABC Communications Media and Advertising.

 

Golden Oldie: Are you single/married/married with 5 children?

Michel: I lived together two times, had a lot of relations. At this moment I am single.

Michel: Dutch, English and Spanish.

Michel: I live in Eindhoven.

Michel: Barcelona is the best. Liege in Belgium the worst.

 

Golden Oldie: What is the furthest place you ever went to?

Michel: Bali, Indonesia.

Michel: Maldives, Fiji islands, Latin America and more Asia.

Michel: Dance music and party.

Michel: People with bad attitude.
