The upcoming spring Agora in Alicante, 28-30 April, will see the most competitive elections in years. The most interesting face-off will be for the highest position: For the post of president of AEGEE-Europe there will be two candidates: Alfredo Sellitti from AEGEE-Salerno and currently Network Director in the CD, will face the competition of Muriël Eerken (former Vice President of AEGEE-Utrecht and current treasurer of the AEGEE-Academy). It’s also a battle of the sexes: boy against girl.
For the four vacant ordinary CD member positions there will be six candidates, for the treasurer job and the position of secretary general two candidates and there are also two candidates each.
The tendency of the past years that saw a shift of candidates to the East and South East, continues strongly. Only three of the 12 candidates are from the West, of which two are competing for the presidency. The same number – three – is the number of candidates from Turkey. For the first time AEGEE-Europe might have a Turkish treasurer and secretary general – well, ok, the secretary candidate studied in Lüneburg, Germany…
In the next weeks the Golden Oldie will present you the candidates in detail.
Here are the candidates (click on the names for reading their complete candidatures, opens in a new window):
